Salamanca

This weekend we had a day excursion to Salamanca.  It took two hours by bus.  Our host moms make us these sandwiches called “bocadillos”.  I have liked both of mine so far! My first sandwich had cheese and chorizo stuff (kind of like pepperoni) and my second bocadillo was ham and cheese.  Some of the students on the trip are lucky enough to get tuna and ham… so gross.  Those sandwiches usually don’t get eaten.  While in Salamanca we toured the cathedral nueva y viejo.  The new and old cathedrals are connected together.  We also toured a famous and really old university in Salamanca.  The university now only used as a museum and does not function as a school.  We ate at a cute little restaurant for lunch with our teachers and other people in our group.  After lunch we all of course wanted to stop at the yummy candy store that we saw on our walk back.  The candy stores seem to be a very popular place for all of us americans that like sweets and chocolate. ;)
