Madrid
This past weekend the entire group traveled by train (the slow one) to Madrid. It took us two hours to get there. The train ride wasn’t too bad, we basically all slept since it was an early train ride. Once we got to Madrid we dropped off our bags at the hotel. The hotel we stayed in was called “Hotel Mediodia”. This hotel happened to be the same one that I stayed in when I traveled to Spain in high school, so that was neat! We toured the Reina Sofia and the Prado museum while in Madrid. The Reina Sofia was not the most interesting art museum. It had a lot of weird abstract art. The Prado was really neat and full of famous paintings by Goya y Veláquez and many others. We had to spend two hours at each museum, which was a really long time just to walk around and look at art. We went out as a group on saturday night to a club called Teatro Kapital. It is a popular club in Madrid and has 7 floors all with different types of music. The cost to get in was 17 euros which was too much if you ask me. I was glad to get to experience the atmosphere though!
